Glenn Dewey Folck was born January 30, 1924 in Bloomfield, Nebraska; to Dewey and Mary (Lemke) Folck and left this world for his heavenly home on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the age of 92.

Glenn grew up in the Bloomfield, Nebraska. He lived in Wyoming for a short time with his parents, but later moved back to Bloomfield and attended rural school at District # 102 through the eighth grade and later received his GED. He farmed with his Dad and brother Andrew until 1945, when he joined the Army. Glenn served in the Philippines and Japan. He was a Mess Sergeant at the 376th Station Hospital in Japan, near Tokyo. He returned from Japan to continue farming. He was united in marriage on February 21, 1948 to Ellen Della Andreasen at the Methodist Church in Bloomfield. Together they farmed until 1963 until his health forced them to town, where they purchased the Folck’s Shoe Store and owned it until 1971. Glenn also worked for Jim Scott funeral home and the United States Postal service.

In 1971 they moved to Bentonville, Arkansas where they purchased and operated a car wash. He then worked for Sam Walton at Wal-Mart as a security guard and later became supervisor for the Wal-Mart sign shop until retiring. In 2006 they moved to Plainview, NE. Glenn loved to fish, sit outdoors and do woodworking, making several grandfather clocks, trunks, and trains. Glenn also served as Legion Commander both in Bloomfield and Bentonville, Arkansas. In May, 2016 he was awarded for being a member of the American Legion for 70-years. He was a lifetime Methodist church member, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many.

Glenn is survived by his children and their spouses, Kieth (Linda) Folck of Bentonville, AR, Eileen Johnson and Bob Gillis of Plainview, NE., Jo (Doug) Heidtbrink of Malcolm, NE., Mary (Larry) Holloway of Hiwasse, AR., Dewey (Annette) Folck of Bentonville, AR. 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, sister, Leitha Eisenhauer, sisters-in-law, Glenda Folck, Lucile (LaVern) Kauth, Bess Dowty; and brother-in-law, John (Janette) Andreasen and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen; parents, Dewey and Mary Folck; father and mother- in-law, Andrew and Della Andreasen; brothers, Andrew and Kenneth; brother-in-law, Bud Dowty; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Andreasen and great grandchild, Archie Small.
