SPRINGDALE — Rex Henry Spradling, 89, of Springdale, passed from this life September 26, 2015. He was known for his big heart and generous spirit, willing to give the shirt of his back to anyone in need. He was loved by all who knew him. He had no greater love than his love for his family. Working on lawn mowers and mowing grass, occupied much of his time. If it was Friday, you would find him at the sale barn. Playing dominoes and cards were some of his favorite pastimes. He made the best cornbread in two counties. He was a gracious host; whenever you left his home, you were always invited to come back.

He was born March 22, 1926 to Clyde and Willia Spradling in Purdy, Arkansas. Ava Louise Walker became his bride on December 8, 1951 in Ribbon Ridge, Arkansas. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, H.C. and J.C. Spradling, his son, Henry Spradling and two grandchildren Tamalena Case and Michael Case. He is survived by two sisters, Maxine Foster and Ruth Holloway; a brother, Jasper Spradling; his daughter, Erlene Tate and husband Steve, daughter-in-law, Nancy Spradling, son, Rex A. Spradling and his friend Natalie Rye, son, Dwain Spradling and his friend Lori Libbert; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday September 30, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery also in Springdale. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
