Darrell Eugene Armstrong, 74, of Mayflower, died Sunday (July 15, 2001) at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

Born Feb. 10, 1927, in Delaplaine (Greene County), son of the late James and Ora Ford Armstrong, he was a railroad equipment salesman, a 32nd-degree Mason in Aurora Lodge No. 423, a lifetime member of Roadmaster and Maintenance of Way Association of America and a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lorine Carter, Zenna Whitmore and Marvine Armstrong.

Survivors are his wife, Eloise Trantham Armstrong; a son, Stephen Armstrong of Conway; two sisters, Pauline Lacert of Sacramento, Calif., and Josephine French of O'Kean (Randolph County); one brother, Harold Armstrong of Pocahontas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Griffin Leggett-Conway with the Rev. David Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jack French, Brad French, Jimmy French, Kim French, Glen Winkle and James Irby.

Eloise Armstrong, 77, of Mayflower went to be with her Lord on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010.

Eloise was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Dermott to the late Sidney Trantham and Mary (Harden) Holland.

She is also preceded in death by husband, Darrell Armstrong.

Mrs. Armstrong was a retired LPN and of the Methodist faith. She was a devoted mother and loving grandmother.

She is survived by children, Des Moore and wife Betty of Hurst, Texas, Marc Bragalone and wife Laura of Conway, Chris Bragalone and wife Mary of Clinton, and Steve Armstrong and wife Debbie of Conway; stepsister, Sharon Mangum of Benton; grandchildren, Lisa Moore, Taylor Bragalone, Kiefer Bragalone, Blakely Bragalone, Krystal Bragalone, Christina Stanfield, Jamie Stanfield, Erik Armstrong, Heather White and Margot Wiedower; and great-grandchildren, Gabbi Armstrong, Briggs White, Bryar White and Maci Bragalone.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mayflower Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Ark., 72034, 501-327-5000.

When Eloise Trantham was born on October 24, 1933, in Dermott, Arkansas, her father, Sidney, was 20, and her mother, Mary, was 16. She had one child with William Ralph Moore and two other children. She died on December 3, 2010, in Mayflower, Arkansas, at the age of 77.
