SPRINGDALE — Velma Jean Cantrell, 73, passed away in Springdale on Nov. 15, 2017. She was born on Oct. 13, 1944, to Elmer and Josiephene Kesner Thomas in Kingston, Ark.
Velma worked for The Clorox Company. She enjoyed camping, fishing and going to church.
She married James Cantrell in 1970. She was a member of Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Cantrell; two brothers, Lewis Thomas and Jay "Buck" Thomas; three sisters, Dorothy Day, Imogene Hull and Janet Reed.
Survivors include four sisters, Virginia Lee, Lois Williams, Dottie Seals and husband John, all of Springdale, and Reba Ann Binam of Centerton; and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved very much and lots of special friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Springdale on Saturday, Nov. 18, with Pastor Clark Snow Officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship cemetery.
A visitation will be one hour prior to the service starting at 9 a.m. at the church.
