SPRINGDALE — James Lee Cantrell, 91, of Springdale passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The Maples. James was born March 12, 1927 in Lead Hill, Arkansas to Coy and Johnnie Rozell Cantrell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and one brother.

James was a member of the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ where he was a deacon. He was a carpenter by trade. He served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in Germany with the 78th Division. He loved hunting, 4-H, and working with livestock.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Pauline Cantrell; one son, Thomas Cantrell of Springdale; one daughter, Connie Alston of Lowell; three grandchildren, Lorrie Bayles and husband Brandon of Tontitown, Mark Cantrell and wife Kari of Siloam Springs and Joseph Alston, who is stationed at White Sands, New Mexico; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Grayson, Emily and Beckett.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
