Mrs Mary Julia McGowan, 88 years old of Alma, Arkansas died Thursday, November 21, 1968 in a fire at her home. A resident of Alma for 46 years, she was born January 29, 1880 in Crawford county to John and Nannie Woods Carter. She was a member of Alma Methodist church.Survivors are sons, C E and Lloyd, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; daughters, Mrs Meadows and Mrs Harr; sister, Lela; and eight grandchildren.
Grandsons serving as casket bearers were, Jack, Don, Johnny, Mike, Claude, and Truman Harris.
