GENTRY — Joseph "Joe" Thomas Smith, 77 year old resident of Gentry, Arkansas, died on July 29, 2018 at his home. Born on July 10, 1941 in Titusville, Florida, he was the son of Aulcie Smith and Augusta McAbee Smith. Joe moved to the Cherokee City area in the early 1950s. He married Janice Elaine True on March 5, 1962 in Jay, Oklahoma. Joe worked as a farmer, running a dairy for over 40 years, before deciding to take it easy and raise turkeys. He was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Smith; son, Tom Smith; brother, Anthony; and three sisters, Katherine, Esther, and Frieda.

He is survived by two children, Rob Smith and wife Sandy of Gentry, and Sandra Smith of Gentry; daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith of Jay, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; Cody Smith and Leslie; Kali Rivera and Murrell, Perry Sullins and Ashley, Dakota Smith, and Katie Smith; six great-grandchildren: Clay, Sarah, Levi, Easton, Olivia, and Priscilla; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Colcord Church of Christ with Mr. Mike Ellis and Pastor Mark Rotramel officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery in Cherokee City, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. GENTRY — Janice Elaine Smith, 73-year-old resident of Gentry, Ark., died on Jan. 28, 2018, at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital. Born on Nov. 14, 1944, in Moorpark, Calif., she was the daughter of Edwin True and Betty Vermillion True Clark.

Janice graduated from Gentry High School. She married Joe Smith on March 5, 1962, in Jay, Okla. She was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ. Janice was the secretary/treasurer for the Monday Night Strikers Bowling League of Gentry and spent many active years with the Bloomfield 4-H Club and Springtown Extension Homemaker's Club.

She was preceded in death by one son, Tom Smith; father, Edwin True; and stepfather, George Clark.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Smith; son, Rob Smith and wife Sandy of Gentry; daughter, Sandra Smith of Gentry; daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith of Jay, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Cody Smith, Kali Smith, Perry Sullins, Dakota Smith, and Katie Smith; six great-grandchildren: Clay, Sarah, Levi, Easton, Olivia, and Priscilla; four sisters, Marion Pitts, Darleen Allen, Debbie Taylor, and Carla Beeman, all of Gentry; brother, Rick True of Bentonville, Ark.; several nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Colcord Church of Christ, Colcord, Okla., with Mr. Mike Ellis and Pastor Mark Rotramel officiating. Burial will follow at Dickson Cemetery, Cherokee City, Ark. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
