Betty Jo Howerton, 93, of Hindsville, died June 2, 2018, at her home.
She was born Nov. 13, 1924, the daughter of Benjamin Joye Johnston, Sr., and Clara Whetzel Johnston.
She was a homemaker and formerly employed by Cargill, Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard "Bill" Howerton; her parents; two brothers, Benjamin Joye Johnston, Jr. and Donald Ray Johnston; two sisters, Vivian Cloer and Jaynell Holmesley; and several nieces and nephews.
Jo is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at the Evergreen Church of Christ in Pilgrim's Rest, with Charles Bell and Randall Castleman officiating.
Interment followed in the Joyce Cemetery at Pilgrim's Rest.
The family requests that memorials be made to either: Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72764 or Gospel Tracts International, 2125 N. Center St., Fayetteville, AR 72701.
Services were under the care of Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory.
