When Archie Frederick Howard was born on November 13, 1909, in Conway, Arkansas, his father, Chester, was 27 and his mother, Almedia, was 22. He married Ruth Louzilla Elliott on January 6, 1934, in Pulaski, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on November 9, 1981, in Pasadena, California, at the age of 71, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
