When Chester Montigue "Mont" Howard was born on December 29, 1881, in Caldwell, Kentucky, his father, John, was 47 and his mother, Louisa, was 39. He married Almedia Ross on November 15, 1905, in Faulkner, Arkansas. They had six children in 11 years. He died on March 23, 1958, in Arkansas at the age of 76, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
