August 21, 1937 - July 17, 1971
Donald Oswalt, 34 of the Standard-Umsted community, died early Saturday morning in a fire which destroyed his home. The house caught fire when it was struck by lightning during a storm. Sheriff Jerry McMahen reported that Oswalt's parents managed to escape without being injured. He said the incident took place about 4:15 a.m. Standard-Umsted is near the Union County line.
