SPRINGDALE — Elva "Cleo" Shockley, 69, of Springdale died July 17, 2006, at Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 29, 1936, in Asher to Ellis and Viola Murphy Roach. She was a homemaker and a member of Evergreen Church of Christ. She enjoyed making silk flower arrangements. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Marie Shockley, in 1969.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Shockley of the home, to whom she was married July 22, 1968; two sons, Ernest W. Smith and wife Linda of Springdale, Ricky M. Smith and wife Barbara of Huntsville; three stepsons, Chris A. Shockley and wife Carol of Lodi, Calif., Larry D. Shockley and wife Donna of Springdale and David E. Shockley and wife Sherry of Gilroy, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Masterson of Fayetteville, Louise Davis of Springdale, Leona Judy of Monett, Mo., and Juanita Edens of Springdale; one brother, Clarence Roach of Farmington.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Church of Christ with Charles Bell officiating. Burial will be in Joyce Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Derek Shockley, Jared Shockley, Gary Edens, Odie Anthney, Ray Turner and Ron Yates.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Nelson, Michael Knowlton, Dustin Smith and Johnny Knowlton.
