Grover Adlai Curry, 73, 210 W. 5th St., of Smackover died Friday at 9:13 p.m. in a Smackover hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Curry was born Jan. 30, 1892 in Drew County, Ark., the son of George W. and Elizabeth Fultz Curry. He was a retired plumber and had lived in Smackover since 1926, moving there from Monticello. He was a member of the Maple Avenue Baptist Church in Smackover. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Corine Stell Curry of Smackover, two daughters, Mrs. J. D. Moody, Houston, Tex., Mrs. C. S. White of North Little Rock; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren' and one sister, Mrs. H. H. Green, Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services have been announced for Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Maple Avenue Baptist Church of Smackover, with the Rev. Lewis Clarke officiating, assisted by the Rev. D. C. McAtee. Burial will be in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young's. Active pallbearers will be W. H. White, E. O. Hankins, Thomas W. Chadwell, G. B. Dickerson, A. J. Fambrough and L. Bates. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Maple Avenue Church and Dr. A. H. Doren. (The El Dorado Times - May 10, 1965)
