ALLRED, William H. - William Allred, a well-known fruit grower and farmer, died in Avoca early Sunday morning after a long illness. He was about 77 years old. Funeral services were held and burial made at Tuck's Chapel. Mr. Allred was born in Illinois and bought a farm near Tuck's Chapel on which he lived for over 50 years. Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, Fred and Charles Allred of Rogers and Hurley of Texas; also by two daughters, Miss Edna Allred of the home and Mrs. Sallie Towe of Rogers.

*CCNote: Sallie Towe should be Lola Lee Allred Skaggs, per relative email.

{from Avoca} Several from here attended the funeral of W.H. Allred at Tuck's Chapel Sunday afternoon. It is with sad hearts that we had to give up one of our oldest and best known citizens. Mr. Allred taught school in Avoca several years back and he leaves many pupils to mourn the loss of a good teacher. Our sympathy goes out to his bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.

In loving memory of W.H. Allred: who left us August 4, 1929. Gone is the face we loved so dear; Silent is the voice we loved to hear; Too far away for sight or speech, But not too far for thought to reach. Sweet to remember one who once was here, And who though absent is just as dear. Sadly missed by his wife, Laura Allred.
