SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Ramona W. Christie, age 88 of Springfield, Mo., passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2018. She was born Dec. 6, 1930, in Pea Ridge, Ark., and graduated from Pea Ridge High School.

She was a member of University Heights Baptist Church where her family worshiped.

Ramona enjoyed cooking for her family, especially baking bread and cinnamon rolls. She loved reading her bible and magazines. Ramona taught her daughters to sew the latest fashions. Ramona raised American Eskimo puppies, loved boating with her family and decorating for the holidays. She enjoyed canning from her garden. Gardening was her passion and passed that interest on to her daughters. Through Ramona's working career she worked at Zenith and the flower shops at Price Cutter.

Ramona is leaving behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra Weatherly; her husband, Mike of Coral Springs, Fla. Ramona cherished her grandson, Toby Royal; and great-grandson, Drakyn Royal; brother David Blackburn, his wife Pat of Springfield, Mo.; sister-in-law, Marcella Blackburn of Nixa, Mo.; niece, Jean Edwards; and many more family and friends.

Ramona is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bird Blackburn; a brother, Doyle Blackburn; and daughter, Kathy Royal.

Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Mo.
