SEAMSTER, Amanda A. - Died: Mrs. Amanda A. Seamster, beloved wife of Rev. Marion Seamster, was born May the 3rd, 1854, professed religion and joined the church in 1870 and died at her home in Avoca, Benton county, Arkansas Dec. 19th, 1899. After suffering about eleven months with that loathsome and fatal disease, consumption, her happy spirit quietly passed out of the body to realize that which she so much desired - to depart this life to be with Jesus and the Angels. Her life is before all of her relatives and friends, they know where to find her. Her life was not a failure, she was ever ready to do what she could to bring lost souls to Christ. Her purposes were pure and a gentleness of manner were prominent features of her character. She was a favorite among her friends and relatives, she moved among her associates as an Angel of Mercy and bound her friends to her with a cord of love that could not be easily broken. She was the center of her home, her husband looked to her as his all. I have known the deceased for about 20 years and I always esteemed her as an excellent wife and a wise and faithful mother. Thus has passed away a good woman, faithful to her family, loyal to her religion and to her God. Her funeral was conducted by this writer at Tuck's Chapel in the presence of a large audience of grief stricken relatives and friends. The body was then consigned to the grave in the cemetery at Tuck's Chapel to await the resurrection morn, when no doubt, she will have a part in the first resurrection. Isaac T.
