Troy Lee Jones

Troy Lee Jones, 66, of Batesville, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Veteran's Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born in Cord, Arkansas on August 13, 1947 to Troy D. and Doris Dorothy (Henderson) Jones.

He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the VFW, a past commander of the American Legion, president of Batesville Jaycee's, and was always very helpful with Batesville community projects.

He enjoyed helping with the White River Carnival, playing baseball and softball, hunting, and being with family and friends. He was a barber, the owner of a pawn shop, a jewelry store, and a bar. He was an Air Force veteran and served during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his son, Troy Lynn Jones of Jacksonville, AR, two grandchildren, Blake Jones and Dylan Jones, a brother, Gary Jones of Batesville, AR, and a sister, Melissa Yates of Beaumont, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cheryl Lynn Jones.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Roller-Crouch Chapel with Jeff Childers officiating.

Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery at Cord under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005 and to Batesville Parks and Recreation, 500 E. Main, Batesville, Arkansas.
