LITTLE ROCK - Thomas Floyd Jones, age 92, born Oct. 20, 1926, passed away on Nov. 1, 2018.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Alma (Craney), and wife of 11 years, Louise (Ladd). Tom is survived by his loving children, Cathy Bucek (Tim), Randy Jones (Marce), Twins Mark (Pat) and Mike Jones (Stacy), Christy Bingham and Tom Jones (Beth), 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Tom was a veteran of World War II which he entered in October 1944. Upon his return in late 1946, he married Mary in August 1947. Tom had several careers. In the '50s as a teacher and grain elevator owner/operator; in the '60s as a regional sales director for Ralston Purina; in the '70s as a hog farm owner/operator, owner of a donut shop, real estate sales and finally insurance sales into his retirement in the late '80s.
Tom was a long-time member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, Ark., and actively involved in the Knights of Columbus and Men's Club.
Tom loved all sports, especially basketball (which he coached for years) and baseball (coached for years as well) any card game, the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and playing golf into his late 80s. His garden, which he took much pride in, was always a source of experimentation and joy too. Destin was a favorite winter getaway for Tom and Mary.
Married for 54 years to Mary, Tom most of all loved his family and his many dear friends. He was an outgoing, outspoken individual with a generous personality and passion for learning and teaching.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Bucek, Steven Jones, Kevin Jones, Chris Jones, Chas Bingham, Tommy Jones, and Patrick Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, Betsy, Julie, Jenny, Amanda, Rebecca, Natalie, and Libby.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. with funeral beginning at 1 p.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Rogers. Online condolences can be made at www.rollinsfuneral.com.
