When Keziah "Kizzie" Runnels was born in 1896, her father, John, was 43, and her mother, Sarah, was 32. She married George Washington Asbury Manes and they had 13 children together. She also had one son and one daughter from another relationship. She died on June 12, 1973, in Dumas City, Arkansas, at the age of 77, and was buried in Gould, Arkansas.
