DeFOREST, Margaret - Herd, Ark., Oct. 31, 1900 - The messenger of death has visited our home, our church and our community again and taken from us a kind and loving mother and one of our faithful church members - Sister Margaret DeForest. She was born in Benton county, Ark. March 11, 1840; departed this life Oct. 18, 1900 near the place of her birth. She professed a hope in Christ and was baptized into the fellowship of New Prospect Baptist church in October 1854, remaining a member of the same to the day of her death - 46 years. She leaves six children, four girls and two boys, all of whom we trust are ready to meet mother on the flowery banks of sweet deliverance.
