Gary Dean Head, age 64, passed away peacefully in Arlington, Texas, on April 18, 2018. Dean was a resident of Hope, Arkansas, and Crowley, Texas.
Dean was born on April 26, 1953, in Prescott, Arkansas, the sixth of eight children. He married Carol Haltom in 1972 and remained married until his death. He worked for Hope Water & Light 31 years, retiring as part of the organization’s management. He was known for being soft spoken but full of humor and playful sarcasm. His greatest joys in life were music, traveling with his wife Carol, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dean is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol; son Brian and daughter-in-law Christina Head; daughter Amanda and son-in-law Matt Cobb; grandchildren Anjolie Head, Garrett Head, and William Cobb; and six siblings: Carolyn Hill, Gaylon Head, Kay Schane, Ann (Sam) Hill, Judy Roberts, and Terry Head.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Irene (Treas) Head, his brother Dr. Charles Head, and his grandson John-Raven Cobb.
Memorial service for Dean will be held on May 5, 2018, at 2:00pm at Central Baptist Church, 615 E. 2nd St., Prescott, AR 71857. The service will be presided over by ministers Micah Jason Mauldin and Perry Johnson.
