When Samuel Benjamin Graves was born on June 4, 1881, his father, David, was 23 and his mother, Etta, was 22. He married Maggie Nicholson in 1901. They had two children during their marriage. He died on June 21, 1955, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 74, and was buried in Gould, Arkansas.
