Mrs. Lizzie Poole, 76, Calion, died Monday at a local hospital following a long illness. She was born in New Orleans, La., Oct. 5, 1888, the daughter of Robert and Teresa Munford Bienvenue, was a resident of Union County most of her life and lived in Calion since 1926. Mrs. Poole was a member of the First Methodist Church of Calion. Surviving are her husband William P. Poole, Calion; four sons, R. A. Poole, El Dorado, T. C. Poole, Calion, D. I. Poole, Victoria, Tex., and R. E. Poole, Hampton; three daughters, Mrs. N. W. Herring, Bryson, Tex, Mrs. Marie Manley, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Plez Major, Heber Springs; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Calion Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Mann, the Rev. James Ford and the Rev. Walter Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, neat Calion Road, under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Maxwell Nelson, D. L. Staples, George Blackmon, Gene Epps, Reggie Stevens, and Boyd Evans. The body was taken to the family home Tuesday afternoon. (The El Dorado Times - July 27, 1965)
