Mrs. Iris Estelle McMurrain, 100, of Rt. 3, El Dorado, died in a local hospital Friday morning after a brief illness. Born July 11, 1869, in El Dorado, she was the daughter of Rev. John Keating and Mary Jolly Keating. She was a lifelong resident of Union County and a member of the Calion United Methodist Church. She was the widow of M. L. McMurrain. Survivors include two sons, J. McMurrain of Rt. 3, El Dorado, and W. L. McMurrain of Snyder, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Goodwin and Mrs. Ethel Smith, both of El Dorado; 23 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Young's with the Rev. James E. Robken and Theron Ware officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery, Calion Highway, under the direction of Young's. (El Dorado Times - November 28, 1969)
