Graveside memorial service is set for 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 at Bayless Cemetery in Garfield, with Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge officiating.

GARFIELD — Edith Irene Smith, 65, of Garfield died Dec. 30, 2003, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton
County in Bentonville. She was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Falls City, Neb., to Elmer J. and Thelma Kimes DeJarnette.
She married Clarence Eugene Smith on Sept. 2, 1955. She moved to the area in 1972 from Colorado. She was employed by CTS in Bentonville for 16 years. In 1998, at age 60, she received a GED from Springdale High School. She enjoyed crocheting. She was a Christian and a member of Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Clarence E. Smith of the home; one son, Duane Smith and wife Patricia of Rogers; four daughters, Pam Peterson and husband Roger of Bentonville, Deb Hirsch and husband Roy and Betty Potter, all of Pea Ridge, and Sandra Coe and husband Ralph of Garfield; her mother of Boulder, Colo.; one brother, Richard Lee DeJarnette of Colorado; one sister, Linda Martha Hartman of Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with George Wisley officiating. Burial will be in Bayless Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
