Mrs. Eva Atta Davison, 82, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday in the home of daughter following a long illness. Mrs. Davison, who lived at 802 Wesson St., was born on April 9, 1882 in Dallas, Tex., the daughter of Henry B. and Sarah E. Hendrix Liles. She was a lifelong resident of El Dorado and a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, Sidney Jones of El Dorado and Fred Jones of San Dimas, Cal; two step sons, Conrad Davison and Homer Davison, both of El Dorado; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Byrd of El Dorado; five step-daughters, Mrs. Cue Bennett, Mrs. Henry McGough, Mrs. Sid Diffie, and Mrs. Effie Graves, all of El Dorado and Mrs. Vera Purifoy of Chidester, Ark; three brothers, George Liles and Owen Liles, both of Mena, Ark., and Henry Liles of Gig Fork, Ark.; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Durwood Henry officiating. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery off Calion Highway under the direction of Rumph Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Elliott Cobb, Edgar Joiner, Dewey Beene, J. D. Sims, D. C. Sims and Robert Girard. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Barry Moore, Sr., Dr. Barry Moore, Jr., G. E. Wilson, C. E. Dunlap, John Schuler Benson, O. F. Smith and friends of the family. The body will remain at Rumph Funeral Home until one hour before the service. (The El Dorado Times - December 7, 1964)
