June 27, 1898 - June 18, 1969
Mrs. Laura Gatling Slaughter, 70, of 812 Junction City Road, died in a local hospital at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Slaughter was a member of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include her husband, D. L. Slaughter, El Dorado; three sisters, Mrs. George Lewis, Mt. Holly, Eunice Gatling, Mt. Holly, and Mrs. M. A. Nesbit, El Dorado; and one brother, Fred Gatling, Mt. Holly. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, Calion Highway. Pallbearers will be Ed Terry, O. E. Bishop, R. J. Sims, E. A. Buckley, Sanford Nesbit and Ernest Elam. (El Dorado Times - June 19, 1969)
