When Delmer Schorstein was born on September 17, 1919, his father, Edward, was 35 and his mother, Laura, was 24. He married Irene Hill on December 26, 1944, in Arkansas, Arkansas. He died on July 16, 1990, at the age of 70, and was buried in De Witt, Arkansas.
