Edwin Merle Van Amburg, 88, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Batesville. He was born September 28, 1926 in Blue Rapids, KS to William Henry Van Amburg, Sr. and Letha I. Fishback Van Amburg. He served in the Army, was a member of Center Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Charlotte and enjoyed creating things out of wood. Edwin loved hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Van Amburg of Elkins; one daughter, Marian Huddleston of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren and one niece, Carolyn Barnhart of Kansas City, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Velma Lucille Lawrence Van Amburg; one infant son, Jimmy Ray Van Amburg; two daughters, Debbie Renee Wilson and Phyllis Jean Halcom; one sister, Anna Marie Kuhn and two brothers, Howard L. Kelly and William Henry Van Amburg, Jr.

Services will be 10:0 A.M., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Charles Bullington and Bryan Tuggle officiating. Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord. Pallbearers will be John 3:16 Ministry.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, January 23, 2015.

Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.
