David Embry, 84, of Atkins, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born December 23, 1932, in Blackwell, son of the late William and Audrey Arnold Embry.
He was a graduate of Atkins High School and Arkansas Polytechnic College, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Anna Berkemeyer Embry; son, Kyle Embry; and 3 brothers, Billy Embry, Carl Embry, and Dwain Embry.
He is survived by a daughter, Dennie and husband Gary Childress; son, Brian Embry; 2 grandchildren, Morgan and husband Jason Martin, and Courtney and husband Josh Bjorgum; 3 great-grandchildren, Brady Kate, Breckin Kyle, and Brett Aimee; brother, Gay Embry; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service and burial is 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 19, at Oakland Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Howell officiating. Visitation is from 6:00-7:00 PM, Monday, at Lemley Chapel.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are nephews: Lynn Embry, Jeff Embry, Morris Embry, Doug Virden, Chris Virden, Eric Napier, Greg Duvall, and Gaylord Embry.

Mary Anna Embry, 74, of Atkins, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at her home. She was born December 29, 1939, in Morrilton, daughter of the late Louis J. and Mary Rebecca Whillock Berkemeyer.

She was a member of the Atkins Church of the Assumption. She had a loving, gentle soul and was "mermer" to many children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kyle Embry; and a sister, Jackie Virden.

She is survived by her husband, David Embry; son, Brian Embry; daughter and son-in-law, Dennie and husband Gary Childress; 4 sisters, Jo and husband Wayne Johnston, Kathleen and husband Lonnie Napier, Pat and husband Paul Duvall, and Suzy and husband Gary McGee; grandchildren, Courtney and husband Josh Bjorgum, and Morgan and husband Austin McKnight; 3 great-grandchildren, Brady Kate Bjorgum, Breckin Kyle Bjorgum, and Brett Aimee McKnight; great-niece Ashlyn Sills, all of Atkins; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 AM Monday, June 23, at Lemley Chapel with Father Ernest Hardesty officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Pallbearers were Doug Virden, Chris Virden, Eric Napier, Greg Duvall, Gaylord Embry, Lynn Embry, Jeff Embry and Morris Embry.

Kyle Embry, 45, of Atkins, died Monday, August 2, 2010 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center of an abdominal aneurysm. He was born in Morrilton February 13, 1965, the son of David and Mary Anna Berkemeyer Embry of Atkins. He was an employee of Berky's Diner in Atkins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Mary Berkemeyer, and Bill and Audrey Embry.

He is survived by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Dennie and Gary Childress of Atkins; brother, Brian Embry of Atkins; nieces, Courtney Bjorgum, Morgan McKnight and Camrie Embry; and great-niece, Brady Kate Bjorgum.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday at Lemley Funeral Chapel in Atkins, the Rev. David Downum officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday.

Pallbearers are Doug Virden, Chris Virden, Eric Napier, Greg Duvall, Lynn Embry, Jeff Embry and Morris Embry. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Beachamp, Howard Lonon, Robin VanDerveer and Greg Willis.
