ATKINS — Paul Lee Burnett, beloved father, brother and grandfather, 76, of Atkins passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, at his home.
He was born January 4, 1937, in Atkins, son of Durard and Vida Pearl Hurst Burnett. He was a 1954 graduate of Atkins High School and attended Arkansas Tech University on a football scholarship. He enlisted in the US Army in 1957 and served until 1965 when he was honorably discharged. He was a field office manager for several construction companies.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Karen and husband, Robert Smith, of Atkins; grand children, Kelsie Duvall, Karie Casto and Caleb Casto; great-granddaughter, Emory Dawn Fike ; brothers Pat Burnett and wife, Delois, of Atkins, Bill Burnett of Jonesboro, and John Burnett and wife, Lana, of Atkins; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Oscar.
Memorial services will begin at 11 pm Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Lemley Chapel with the Rev David Bishop officiating. Visitation will be conducted an hour prior to services.
