Lawrence Alfred Cheatham, 57, of 518 W. Monroe St., Magnolia, died Monday in the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock following a brief illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Melba Dean Hendricks Cheatham of Magnolia; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Mock and Mrs. Pamela Crisp, both of Magnolia; a son, Lawrence Wayne Cheatham of Magnolia and four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Dunn of Springhill, La.; three brothers, Delton Cheatham, Gatling, Tenn., A. C. Cheatham, Pineville, La. and Atlas Bustin, Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lewis Funeral Home with burial to follow in Magnolia Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Harvey Smith, Francis Lee Lewis, Franklin Williams, Richard Clark, Clyde Smith, and William L. Cheatham. (El Dorado Times - February 2, 1971)
