She was a retired employee of Poindexter Printing Company of Morrilton, a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, the Economy EH Club and an enthusiastic researcher in history and genealogy. She had compiled detailed genealogies of several families, including Beeson, Pew, Tyson, Matthews, Boyd, Murdoch, Hubbard and Blackwell. She was born in Blackwell, the daughter of Joseph Haywood "Buck" and Maggie Hubbard Beeson. She was raised by an aunt and uncle, Mr and Mrs John Lem Pew, after her parents died when she was 7. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, John Henry Tyson; a nephew she raised, Robert Henry Tyson, and his children, Scarlett and Mike Tyson of Kansas City, Missouri.

He was a retired employee of Morton Frozen Fodos and was a farmer. He was a member and deacon of the Hopewell Baptist Church and a member of the VFW. He was an army Veteran of WWII, having served in the battle of Attu in the Aleutian Islands. He was born to John Ardis and Ila Jane Matthews Tyson. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his wife, Lucille Beeson Tyson. Survivors include stepson, Bob Tyson of Atkins; grandchildren, Michael Tyson and Scarlet Tyson both of Gladstone, Missouri; sister Ila Catherine Cains of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
