Edward Carl Milbern, age 61, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2002, at University of Arkansas Medical Center, in Little Rock. A son of Beulah Douglas Milbern of Monroe, Ohio, and the late Glen E Milbern, he was born February 12, 1941, in Casey County, Kentucky.

He was an engineer at Russellville Steel, a veteran of the United States Army, and attended Ohio State University. As a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Russellville, he served on the Board, was Treasurer, and taught an adult Sunday school class.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Janice Frederick Milbern; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Lynn and Bill Nahlen, of Russellville; brothers, Reginald Milbern, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Kevin Milbern, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; sisters, Glenda Penley, of Denver, Colorado, Marcia Rogers and Pam Lindsay, of Middletown, Ohio and Paula Harger of Decatur, Georgia and brother-in-law, Garry Frederick, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a grandson Jonathan Edward Nahlen of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 2 PM, Wednesday, at the First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Larry Jeffries officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery near Atkins, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service, Russellville, Arkansas.

Pallbearers included Bill Mitchener, Grover House, Reginald Milbern, Don Penley, Joey McGee, Kevin Milbern, Garry Frederick and Bill Nahlen. Honorary pallbearers were employees of Russellville Steel.
