Ernest "Doyle" Goodwin, 79, of Atkins, died Sunday, July 31, 2012 in Russellville. He was born October 7, 1932, in Waldron, Arkansasthe son of Truman and Oranona Richmond Goodwin.
He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, was a past Master Mason and current Chaplain with Atkins Lodge #172, and was an active member of the Atkins VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Goodwin; grandsons, Jimmy Glen Cherry, Jr and wife Dana, and Ray Nathaniel Lynch; 1 great-granddaughter, Emmy Cherry; sons, Carl Martin and Gary Goodwin; and daughter, Becky McLemore.
He is survived by daughters, Ellen and husband Randy Underwood, Nadine Lynch, Kay Cherry and their spouses, and Linda Stanford; sons, Curtis Martin and Jerry Goodwin; brother, Vester Goodwin; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Lemley Chapel with Bro. Bill Crawley officiating. Burial with military rites by Rogers Rye Post #2283 is in Oakland Cemetery north of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday.
Pallbearers are Charles Martin, Randy Martin, Bo Mills, Curtis Martin, Doug Taylor and Nolan Mills. Honorary pallbearers are Clarence Serra, Charles Simmons and Jimmy Cherry.

Died at Atkins Nursing Center. Daughter of Eli and Ola Bell Fox Curtis. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Woodrow Curtis, sisters, Rosa Sims, Frankie Watkins and Pearl Bailey; ason, Carl Martin; grandsons, Ray "Bucky" Lynch and Jimmy Cherry, Jr; granddaughter-in-law, Dana Cherry; and great-granddaughter, Emmy Cherry.
Survived by her husband, Doyle Goodwin of Atkins; 2 daughters and sons-in-law; step -daughter; 2 sons and daughters-in-law; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a brother.
Burial in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral of Atkins.
