Married Shirley Stewart September 3, 1955
Max Posey, 79, of Russellville, went home to glory, Monday, March 24, 2014 at Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. The son of Floyd and Clara Taylor Posey, he was born September 25, 1934 in Camden. He was a 1952 graduate of Harmony Grove High School at Camden. He And Shirley Stewart were married on September 3, 1955 at Camden. Max’s career in commercial printing spanned over 50 years, beginning in 1960 At Hurley Printing Company in Camden, with setting type by hand, “esrever ni dna ,tfel ot thgir”. In 1978 he and Shirley founded Posey Printing in Russellville.
He was a Past President of the MARVA Sheltered Workshop, the Russellville Lions Club and the Camden Masonic Lodge.An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, fishing and quail hunting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Annis Smith. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Posey, Russellville; his son, Tom Posey and wife Pattie, Russellville; grandchildren, T J Posey and wife Jenny, Luke Posey, Emily Posey and Sarah Posey, all of Russellville; brothers Al Posey and wife Billie, College Station, Texas, Bob Posey and wife Elizabeth, Brady, Texas; sister, Mary Walker, Conway.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Humphrey Chapel. Rev Greg Sykes will officiate. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery at Atkins by Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p m to 8:00 p m, on Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Arkansas River Valley Hospice Home, 2405 East Parkway Drive, Suite 3, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
