Emma Mae Marshall, 86, of Star City, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Arkansas Hospice Center in Little Rock. She was born November 10, 1925, at Mena, to Ansel Halvert and Camelia Susan Bliss Jones. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev Virgil E Marshall, and six brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Fred and Pat Marshall of Pottsville; daughters and sons-in-law Jewell and Troy Willis of Jacksonville, and Marilyn and Noel Deweese of Star City; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Jackie Jones of Vicksburg, Mississippi; sister and brother-in-law Anna Jo and Bill Thomas of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 10 am on Monday, May 7, 2012, at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Joel Holmes. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery near Atkins, by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Rev Virgil E Marshall, 89, of Star City, Arkansas died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Baptist Health Hospital in North Little Rock.He was born October 17, 1919 at Butlerville, Arkansas to Bufford and Bertha Heath Marshall.
He was a carpenter by trade. He was also a Pentecostal minister who was known for his ability to pioneer and build small country churches into thriving community churches. He had an enduring love of being an evangelical minister until he was called home. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wesley Marshall of Lonoke; sister, Maralee Moran of Wynne.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Emma Mae Jones Marshall of Star City; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Pat Marshall of Pottsville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jewell and Troy Willis of Gravel Ridge, Marilyn and Noel Deweese of Star City; a brother and sister-in-law, Emmit David and Louise Marshall of North Carolina; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Joel Holmes officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, North of Atkins.

Active pallbearers were Rev. Marshall's grandsons; Steve, Greg, and Jeff Marshall, Keith, Mark, and Kevin Willis, and Virgil Deweese.
