Franklin Ray Matchett, 66 of Star City died Saturday at his home in Star City. He was born May 28, 1948 in Atkins to the late Delmer and Naomi Pettit Matchett. He was a retired Free Will Baptist Minister after serving the following church’s over 34 years, Maple Springs, Smith Springs, Woodlawn and Yorktown. He was currently a member of Smith Springs Free Will Baptist Church in Morrilton. Frank served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970, had Previously worked as the Parts Manager at Price Chevrolet in Morrilton, loved to garden, ride horses, write songs and poetry and sing with his family.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 42 years, Bonnie Sue Hubbard Matchett, a sister, Ruth Standridge, brother, Glen Matchett, and sister in law, LaDonna Matchett.

Bonnie Sue Hubbard Matchett, 60 of Star City, passed away Thursday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born January 7, 1953 in Sikeston, Missouri to Louise McCuin Hubbard and Dewey Hubbard. She was a member of Yorktown Free Will Baptist Church, where she was the church pianist, Sunday School Teacher, active in Ladies Auxiliary and the Pastor's wife of 33 years. She worked at Relyance Bank as a Loan Secretary for 10 years.
