Edith Ophelia Whiting Long, 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001.
She was a lifelong member of Camp Shed Methodist Church, a member of Fairview EHC, a homemaker and a teacher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murl Long.
Survivors include a daughter, LeQuita Cannon of Fayetteville; a son, Billy Murl Long of Tichnor; a brother; Press Whiting of DeWitt; a sister, Luna Peterson of DeWitt; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Camp Shed Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens in DeWitt. Arrangements are by Essex Funeral Home in DeWitt.
