Mrs. Ruby (Hensley) Parr, 83, of Cord died Wednesday at Batesville.

She was born July 17, 1926 at Cord, the daughter of Wes and Clara (Churchill) Hensley.

Mrs. Parr worked for International Shoe Company for thirty-one years, and former member of the Cord Home Extension Club. She was a lifelong member of the Cord Baptist Church. The Church was her life, and she spent several years as song leader and music director there.

Mrs. Parr was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Verdell Parr; two brothers, Grady Hensley and Randolph Hensley; and one sister, Susie Jamell.

She is survived by one son, Ted Parr and wife Linda of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one daughter, Sharon Diann Glasgow of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Agnes Gardner of California and Maxine Prince of Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Michele Travis Collins, Misty Wine, Shari Parr Carver, and Bradley Verdell Parr; seven great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law and caregiver, Mae Kennedy.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Prince, George Prince, Steve Prince, Mark Prince, Najim Jamell, Kay Jamell, David Jamell, and Bradley Parr.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class of Cord Baptist Church.

Funeral services were at Cord Baptist Church. Interment was in Hopewell Cemetery.
