BENTONVILLE — Norman "Ick" L. Mathews died Aug. 23, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on Nov, 11, 1929, in Caverna, Mo., to the late Oscar and Leona (Mowl) Mathews. He was married for 55 years to his loving wife, Doris (Wright) Mathews.

Norman and Doris owned The Jug Store for 10 years. He also worked for Chick's Truck Stop for over 30 years. He was a member of the Calvary Temple in Bentonville. Ick loved to hunt, fish and play dominoes with family and friends. He was also an avid St. Lewis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife, Doris of Bentonville; and his daughter, Kristi and Russell Rowe of Centerton; grandsons, Matthew and Daniel Rowe of Bentonville; and stepsisters, Kathryn Stephens of Oregon, Virginia Edwards Anderson, Mo., and Elaine Wiley of Idaho.

A funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Bentonville, with Pastor Dick Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Bentonville City Cemetery.

Ick's viewing will be from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening, Aug. 26, 2011.
