When Burwell Ray Hambrick was born on August 30, 1924, in McGregor, Texas, his father, Parker, was 46 and his mother, Gemma, was 32. He married Louise Elizabeth Rownd on July 10, 1948, in Coryell, Texas. They had three children during their marriage. He died on October 5, 2003, in De Witt, Arkansas, at the age of 79, and was buried there.
