CORPORAL US Army
February 27, 1893 - February 25, 1970
Guy G, Hill, 76, of 1223 N. Madson Ave., died Wednesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 27, 1893, in Hillsboro (Union County). He was the son of W. G. and Willie Hammonds Hill. He was a retired salesman for Ritchie Grocery Co., a life-long resident of Union County, a member of the First Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I, having served with the U.S. Army. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrt Wallace Hill; two brothers, Floyd Hill, Little Rock, and Pearce Hill, Hot Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Pat Kinard, El Dorado, Mrs. Bertie BanLuit and Mrs. Tom Fitzpatrick, both of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian chapel Dr. Don B. Harbuck will officiate. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to service time. Active pallbearers will be John Trimble, Jack Calloway, J. T. Backtel, Tom Green, Jim Matheny, Joe Mahoney II, Ingram Hartje Jr., and Lawrence Garrett. (El Dorado Times - February 26, 1970)
