James Thomas Sanders, 81, of Conway passed away December 28, 2018. He was born June 17, 1937 in Cloverport, KY, to Joseph and Elizabeth Price Sanders.

James was a Navy veteran and retired from the National Guard. He also worked as a carpenter, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He also liked hunting and fishing. James attended Faith Assembly of God in Conway.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Juanita Vasseau, one brother Joseph Sanders, and son-in-law Lester "Bubba" Reidhar.

James is survived by his wife Ola Sanders; three children Jeanie Cade (Matt) of DeWitt, Jimmy Sanders (Amy) of Stuttgart, and Sheila Dickson (Derrick) of Conway; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters Mary Thompson of Chicago, IL, and Elizabeth Jones of Chattanooga, TN.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30 at Essex Funeral Home with burial in Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Ola LeaVerne Vasseur Sanders, 82, of Conway passed away September 22, 2021. She was born November 14, 1938, in Bayou Meto to Gene and Alfia Hearington Vasseur.

She loved the Lord first, but her family and especially her grandchildren were a close second. She enjoyed deer hunting and doing word puzzles.

Ola was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Alfia Vasseur; her husband, James "Sonny" Sanders; eight brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her children Jeanie Reidhar Cade (Matt) of DeWitt, Sheila Dickson (Roy) of Conway, and Jimmy Sanders (Amy); six grandchildren Jena Kimbrell, Justin Reidhar, Amy Rieves, Samantha Adkins, Blake and Heath Sanders; and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside services are 4:30 p.m. September 24 at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.
