Carroll Wallace Ellenburg, 59, of DeWitt, died Monday, November 9. He is survived by his wife, Gretna Henry Ellenburg; one daughter, Judy Trussel of Texas; one brother, Eldon Ellenburg of DeWitt; three sisters, Winifred Kennedy, Elnora Johnson, and Shirley Lane, all of DeWitt; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at Landmark Baptist Church. Burial was at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens under the direction of Essex Funeral Home.
When Carroll Wallace Ellenburg was born on September 11, 1922, in DeWitt, Arkansas, his father, Pryor, was 38 and his mother, Katie, was 32. He married Georgia Gretna Henry Hendricks on April 16, 1947, in Arkansas, Arkansas. They had one child during their marriage. He died on November 9, 1981, in his hometown at the age of 59, and was buried there.
