Walter Young Hudson, 218 Summit St., died Monday at 9:30 a.m. in a local hospital. Mr. Hudson, 73, was born Sept. 6, 1892, in Union County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Hudson. He was a retired employee of Monsanto Co. and a lifelong resident of Union County. A member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Hudson was a past patron of Eastern Star No 280 and a member of El Dorado Lodge No. 13, F&AM. He was both Mason and Shriner. He attended Judge J. G. Ragsdale's Sunday School class and was a charter member of the El Dorado Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Mae Hudson; one son, Walter L. Hudson, Stamps; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin Pratt, El Dorado; six grandchildren; four brothers, Fred Hudson and Max E. Hudson, El Dorado, Garland Cunningham and Robert Cunningham, both of Broken Bow, Okla.; four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Hendricks, Haynesville, La.; Mrs. Guy White, Hot Springs, Mrs. Shelby Storey, Broken Bow, Okla.; and Mrs. Willard Bateman, Hugo, Okla. Services are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Don Harbuck officiating. Assisting will be the Rev. Harold Davis and the Rev. Tom Bray. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body was taken to the residence, 218 Summie St., at 4 p.m. Monday and will be removed to the church Tuesday one hour before the services begin. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by El Dorado Lodge No. 13, F&AM. Pallbearers will be Ava Droddy, J. Elmer Droddy, Tony Harrell, A. J. Hammons, H. E. Frisby, Sr., Curtis Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge J. G. Ragsdale, Rodney Smith, Earl Smith, Dr. John L. Green, Walker Ellen, James Harper, and John T. Young. (The El Dorado Times - August 9, 1966)
