Ruth Ellen Bowden Flower of Pottsville died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in Harrison. Ruth was born on August, 20, 1922 in Russellville to Reece E and Clarice Lucille McGarity Bowden.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James William Flower; her daughter-in-law, Lorle Flower; and one sister, Dorothy Kinslow. Ruth retired from accounting and auditing at General Dynamics Electronics in San Diego, California and from Morton's Accounting Department in Russellville. As a licensed realtor in California, Ruth and her husband James owned and managed various apartments. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Golden Voyagers Sunday School Class, and Young at Heart Senior Group.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law James Michael Flower of Harrison and William Stephen and Sharon Flower of Puerto Rico; daughter Jacqueline Ann Licht of San Diego, California, grandsons, Jason William Flower of Chula Vista, California, Michael James Flower, and Steven Flower, both of Harrison; grand daughter Jessica Serrano of Huntington Beach, California; great-grandsons, Travis, Bryce, and Deryck Flower of Harrison, and Christian Flower of Chula Vista, California; great-grand- daughters, Dominique and Isabella Flower of Chula Vista, California; Alyssa and Bella Serrano of Huntington Beach, California, and Kaci Flower of Harrison; sister, Patricia Hyatt of Benton; brothers, Charles Bowden of Santee, California, and Phillip Bowden of Taiwan.
Pallbearers were Travis, Bryce, Deryck, Christian, and Jason Flower and Mike Alvey. Honorary Pallbearer is Linda Baker.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills, 501 E Sherman Avenue, Harrison, Arkansas 72601.
