Harry Thomas (Red) Haywood, 65, of Calion, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital following a long illness. Born May 11, 1903, in Hustburg, Tenn., he was the son of Thomas T. and Tera Rogers Haygood. After 30 years of employment with the Lion Oil Co. and Monsanto Chemical Co. Mr. Haygood retired in 1962. He had been a supervisor at the Monsanto Chemical Co. A resident of El Dorado since 1928, he moved to Calion in 1962. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of El Dorado. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rubye Collier Haygood of Calion; three brothers, Harold T. Haygood, J. D. Haygood, and R. H. Haygood, all of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Alvin Murray and Dr. C. Ray Hosendorf officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's. The body will be taken to the church prior to service. (El Dorado Times - April 29, 1969)
