On the morning of December 29, 2012, Jerry E. England, our loving husband and father, went home to be with Jesus. Jerry was born on April 10, 1950, to James Elmer England and Dellie (Rush) England of Belzona, Mississippi. He had seven brothers and four sisters and was preceded in death by his parents and two of his brothers, James England and Melvin (Sonny) England.
Jerry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Sue England; his daughter Jennifer England Hurst; his stepson John Goddard; stepdaughter Tammy Scarbrough; his granddaughter Rachel Duncan Wood; grandson Jarad Duncan; and stepgrandchildren Logan Goddard, Lauren Goddard, Nick Scarbrough, Dillan Scarbrough, Dannielle Scarbrough, and Zack Deppe.
His surviving siblings include Charles England of Higden, AR, Joe England of Saucier, Mississippi, Sid England of Heber Springs, AR, Donald England of Concord, AR, Keith England of Quitman, AR, Catherine Wolford of Quitman, AR, Amy Rutledge of Greers Ferry, AR, Mary Deleon of Pearland, TX, and Dee Dee Vanlandingham of Batesville, Mississippi.
His love for his family was only surpassed by his love for God.
Visitation will be at Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs on Tuesday, Jan. 1, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 12:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Interment will follow in Higden-McLehaney Cemetery. Pallbearers include his nephews Donnie England, Kenny Rutledge, Jay England, Ben England, Rowdy Yates, and Shawn DeLeon. Honorary pallbearers are Zelmore Dorris and his life-long friend Eddie Foster.
Memorials may be made to the Community Soup Kitchen c/o First United Methodist Church 1099 W. Pine St. Heber Springs, AR 72543.
