Dorothy Elaine Tillman, 82, of Pineville, Mo., died Aug. 20, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Ark. She was born March 22, 1934, in Akron, Colo., to Henry and Ella Ackerman.
A lifelong resident of the area, she worked for several companies in Rogers, Ark., including Bear Brand, RTW and the Rogers Public Schools Cafeteria. She loved to sew and quilt. She collected cookbooks and cooked from scratch for her family and friends. She spent time visiting and singing at local nursing homes and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the Lord and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pineville, Mo.
She was preceded in death by a son, Harley Tillman Jr.; a daughter, Sharon Craig; a son-in-law, Ross Alan Banke; two brothers, Ernest and Rolla Ackerman; and a sister, Deloris Owens.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Tillman Sr., of the home; children, Kenneth Garvin and wife Ann of Louisville, Ky., Cynthia Hansel and husband Anthony of Berea, Ky, Geneva Banke of Bella Vista, Ark., and Rewa Abercrombie and husband Tony of Bella Vista; three sisters, Mary Tipton of Bigelow, Ark., Frances Milliken of Bentonville, Catherine Wright of Pangburn, Ark; three brothers, John Ackerman of Sulpher Springs, Ark., Ed Ackerman of Pryor, Okla., and Wayne Ackerman of Decatur, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Sisco Funeral Home.
Services were Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge, Ark., with the Rev. Larry Crawford and Dr. James Storey officiating. Burial was in Bayless Cemetery in Garfield, Ark.
In lieu of flowers memorials, can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 2151, Memphis, TN 38101-2151.
